A group of students from De Leon ISD have waited over two years to travel to Washington DC with World Classrooms!
This incredible adventure arrived this past week… and the trip was E P I C!
Students touched four east coast states including Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia!
Mrs.Tori and crew flew in anticipation for all the historical sites and monuments within these four states! Some of our favorite stops were Capital Hill with the US Capital, Eisenhower Memorial (we visited this memorial June 6th, which was the 79th anniversary of the Normandy invasion), Arlington National Cemetery with the changing of the gaurd and JFK eternal flame, Smithsonian’s, Gettysburg and Lincoln and Washington Monuments!
Half our students experienced their first flights and earned their wings. All students were rockstars!
Our beloved “Gilbert” (a rugby ball that accompanied our group walks, down time and leaders) will be housed at Perkins Middle School!
There are no amount of words to express this “experience of a lifetime” in Washington DC!
We are already in the works to plan our next trip so if you wanna talk DC, chat with Mrs.Tori
